*Students enrolling from non-participating systems must pay additional $30.00 registration fee

Harwich-Chatham Summer School Program

Dear Prospective Students,

The Harwich-Chatham Summer School Program is

open to students from Chatham, Harwich, and students

who are summer residents or reside in adjacent communities.

High school students will be permitted to take courses for make-up

credit and/or reinforcement, as approved by sending school.

The High School Summer School Program will be held

at Harwich High School beginning July 9th through August 9 th,

Monday through Thursday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Please mail

registration forms prior to June 30th. You will receive a telephone

call if there is a conflict in course scheduling.

Students attending summer school will be expected to

meet high standards of interest, attitude and behavior.

Should a student fail to adhere to behavioral standards, he/she

will be dismissed without tuition refund.

All students are expected to attend all sessions! They

will be allowed one excused absence. Any additional absences

must be approved by the director in advance.

Course Offerings

 

Classes are available for make-up credit and for remediation

(HHS students must have earned at least 50% for end of year grade to be eligible )

  • Algebra I/II - This is for students needing course credit for either Algebra I or Algebra II.
    Designed for college bound students.
  • U.S. History- This is for students needing course credit for U.S. History.
    A term paper will be required for this course.
  • World History I/II - This is for students needing either course credit for World History I or World History II.
    WHI: Classical Period to 1750, WHII: Early Europe to present
  • English 9/10- This class will focus on process writing and literature for students needing credit in English 9.
  • English 11- This class will focus on process writing and literature in an integrated fashion for students needing credit in English 10 or 11.
  • Biology - This is for students needing course credit for Biology. There will be no lab component to this class.
  • Earth Science - This is a non-lab science for students needing a science credit requirement.
  • MCAS Prep- This course is for students in grades 7-10. Academic focus will be on the English and Math sections of the 10 th grade MCAS exam.
