HAPPY BIRTHDAY....TONY POPE!!!!!
BB wanted to say that to you!!!!
BOOK BEAR had a real busy last day on Cape Cod in Harwich.
BB spent the school day in the 7 First grades and 6 Kindergartens
and still had time to help our school administrative asssistants in the office,
be interviewed by the
Cable Channel 19 and pack for his trip to Hagerstown, Maryland!
He helped the students spell words,
write in journals and write the number 4.
He listened to stories, worked on calendars,
said the pledge of allegiance and played the Penny-Dice Game.
In the office, he worked on the computer. BB is a good typist or so I was told!
He took a coffee break and read the newpaper.
BB discovered an article about HIM in the September 12, 1997 edition of the Harwich Oracle!
The copy machine repairman needed a little
help on
with
one of our machines so BB lent a paw. The office gave BB a Good Citizenship pin, an I Love our School Button
and a bear bookmark.
He played a quick game
of Basketball with a couple of students and
said his goodbyes to everyone in the office.
He was found
patiently waiting in the lobby with a suitcase ! The suitcase turned out
to be the copy machine repairman's tools!
Meanwhile, back in the Library Media Center...
Ms Albertine was sewing
the Cranberry Festival patch on BB's Bookbag.
There will be a picture of that in
BB's Photojournal because
no one could believe their eyes when they saw Ms A
with a needle and thread!
BB waved goodbye to all the students and received
lots of hugs and kisses.
At 3:30 the reporters from Cable Channel 19 came
and interviewed BB for the 5 O'Clock News show.
When the reporters left, BB finished writing in his journal,
double checked his belongings and gave Mary_Ann a kiss goodbye.
Mary_Ann took him to the HarwichPort Post Office.
Mary_Ann took a picture of BB on the Post Office scale...
and then he was on his way...
Goodbye BOOK BEAR....
I'm going to miss you...
you've been a great friend and companion for the last week...
enjoy your travels...
