The calendar is an important creation. It helps us known when it is time to plant and to harvest. More importantly, it lets us known when the weekends and vacation days are.

The Aztecs developed a very complex and beautiful calendar long before the Spinards arrived in Mexico in the early 1500's. The calendar represented a year contained 365 days. The year was made up of 18 months. Each month was made up of 20 days. Each month consisted of 4 weeks that were 5 days long. Adding the five-day nemontemi (empty days) gave the year its 365 days
