We are
teachers, administrator, day care providers, parents, as well as
representatives of church and community groups who share a commitment to
bring quality, affordable programs and services to young children, their
families and providers in Harwich. We are
providing quality preschool experiences for Harwich children with priority to
children who may be at risk and/or of low to moderate income working
families. We support “Make Way For
Kids” preschool, and provide financial assistance to families to enable their
children to attend high quality preschool and day-care programs. We bring training opportunities to
providers and support them in accreditation and credential efforts. We also bring education and support to
parents of young children. The
majority of our funding is through State Department of Education grants as
administered by the Harwich Public Schools.
The public schools provide in-kind services as well as space for
several of our on-going programs. We
also raise funds through events sponsored by the “Friends” of the council. Francie Joseph-3 to 5
