The Program:

Welcome to Computer Camp. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to program games on the computer, design, build and operate robots, and take on a variety of “cool” science challenges.

Students will have these exciting technology areas to explore—

  • Programming interactive games in BASIC with “Media Man” and his trusted buddy “Goo”
  • Meet the Valiant Roamer Robot. Roamer, shaped like a large M&M is a fully programmable robot capable of playing music, drawing color, dressing up in a variety of characters and more.
  • Discover the secrets of optical illusions and how they can be created on the computer.
  • Manipulate 3-D images with custom screens, patterns, gradients, and fonts.
  • Prepare animation loops and sequences for presentation the computer.
  • Turn the computer into the ultimate music and sound effects machine.

This course is taught by Larry Brookhart, computer teacher at Harwich Elementary School for students who have completed grades 4 through 6.
