TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE

Completed grade 3  through grade 7

Monday through Thursday

July 12th  through July 22nd

8:30am to Noon

Location: Harwich Elementary School Computer Lab

Students will have the opportunity to learn how to program games on the computer, design, build and operate robots, animatronics’ characters, and take on a variety of “cool” science challenges.

Students will have these exciting technology areas to explore –

Programming interactive games in BASIC with “Media Man” and his trusted buddy “Goo.” Meet a variety of fully programmable robots capable of playing music, drawing color, dressing up in a variety of characters and more. Discover the secrets of optical illusions and how they can be created on the computer. Manipulate 3-D images with custom screens, patterns, gradients, and fonts. Prepare animation loops and sequences for presentation on the computer. Turn the computer into the ultimate music and sound effects machine. If you're going into grades 4, 5, 6 or 7, and you're ready for a challenging opportunity to explore the world of technology-- this program is for you.

American Girl Arts and Crafts FUN!

Completed grade 2 through grade 5

 6 Tuesdays

July 13th through August 17th

9:30am  to 11:00am

Location: Harwich Elementary School Art Room

Enhance your knowledge of the dolls and their stories.  Learning and great fun!!! Arts and Craft projects are from the American Girl Magazine and the store in Natick. Young Artists and crafters will learn sewing, art and crafting techniques.

Summer Art FUN!

Thursdays

July 15th  through August 19th

9:30am  to 11:00am

Location: Harwich Elementary School Art Room

Celebrate the Arts! Create a mask from Nepal, Oriental paper crafts, American paper or fabric mini quilts, folk art, mandalas from Tibet, mermaids from Cape Cod and cats from India.  Take a trip and have an adventure through the art of the world.
