104 Navigating Your Computer COST $60

This class is a must!!! Learn tips and tricks to perform tasks more efficiently. Topics covered: an overview of the
computer, understanding save vs. save as, word processing, spreadsheet and database management, and
understanding which application to use for the type of project you are working on. Many shortcuts are taught in this class that are not taught in other classes. I guarantee that taking this class will be time well spent. Printed handouts and
practice lessons will be passed out at the first class for an additional charge of $12 payable to the instructor. This hands-on session is an introduction for people working with computers to the basics of using a Windows PC (personal computer). It is also good for more experienced users who want to brush up on the basics. This class will allow you to take control of your computer, rather than having it control you. You should be using your computer to save time and organize things for you rather than having it make you feel frustrated. Class topics include: The parts of a computer and how they affect your work, the difference between Operating System, Application Program and Data. How to make
folders, how to file your documents. Get the basic skills to take control of your desktop environment and organize it to your working style, and the skills to use your computers with more confidence. This class will also cover using Microsoft Office and integrating computer technology in your life. Classes: Classes begin the week of June 29, 2009, unless otherwise noted. In case of inclement weather please listen to WXTK 95.1 ; WOCN 104.1; WQRC 99.9 or call the office at 508-430-2355. Classes held at the school do not meet on legal holidays or during school vacations. Please note the dates of classes.
Location: HES = Harwich Elementary School on South Street ; HMS = Harwich Middle School on Sisson Road ; HHS = Harwich High School on Oak Street. Albro House on Main Street.
Actual room assignments will be posted.
Course Notification: NO CONFIRMATION is sent. Please report to class for the first meeting unless you are notified otherwise.
NO REFUNDS will be given unless the class is cancelled. A class with below the minimum enrollment will be cancelled.
REFUNDS:
1)Refunds will be given if students withdraw at least one week prior to the start of the course.
2) NO other refunds will be granted—this is a fee-based program.
