Election of 1824
In March 1824 Calhoun wihthdrew from the presidential race and ran for the vice presidency and won easily.
The candidates remaining were Jackson, Crawford, Adams, and Clay.
In the electoral college Jackson led with 94, Adams had 84, Crawford 41, and Clay 37. This meant that no one had a majority vote.
