Studio 3

Course Description

Studio 3 is a continuation of studio production and media exposing students to a large variety of mediums, materials and processes. Students will be focusing on learning to utilize 2 and 3D materials to create art works, solve visual problems, and use images as a form of communication. Students will focus on the development of their own style and voice in the creative process. They will create a fine arts portfolio and learn to work independently.
Lectures, presentations, artist visits, journal assignments, college visits and studio work will be used to develop a portfolio of artwork.

 

Course Requirements

All students are required to have a sketchbook at least 8X10 in size. Weekly assignments will be given and graded.
Students are expected to make arrangements to make up class work missed.
Students are expected to act with responsibility and respect towards materials, equipment and each other

Course Expectations

Arrive on time to class prepared
Complete all assignments
Create images that demonstrate an understanding of aesthetic and technical elements of materials and/or processes and strive for excellence in all areas of art making
Use all materials and equipment safely and properly
Develop a portfolio of images that reflect an understanding of the elements and principles of design
Demonstrate a use of art materials and processes in an individual manner
Exhibit work in school and community
Seniors will exhibit work in the Senior Showcase
