Dear Reader, This is my electronic portfolio, which highlights all of the aspects of my life. It shows and explains my experiences that I have learned from and grown from. This group of documentaries and writings show my personality, goals, successes, and disappointments. Together, they form the true essence of who I am. There are four main groups to my portfolio: personal, academic, social, and civic. Each of these groups includes exemplary illustrations of my experiences within each category. The personal link gives insight into who I truly am. It gives a description of my outlook on life and how I apply it to my everyday being. The part of this section that I am most proud of is my multimedia autobiography. This consists of a power point that shows several aspects of my life so far, including family, friends, activities, and sports. Even the minute aspects of the power point, like the two songs that play in the background while the slides play, shows a little about my personality. The first song is laid-back and carefree. I try to maintain these qualities and keep a calm attitude in everything I do. Even though there are things that can seem completely insurmountable at times, I try to stay rational and keep things in perspective. Another part of this section is my employment experience. I have only worked at one place, Port-O-Call. Working there has given me a new meaning to responsibility. I have learned how to handle difficult situations and also how to manage any unexpected problems that might arise. The academic section shows what a huge part of my life consists of: school. This link includes my view on academics. I believe this is an incredibly important part of a young person’s life. Even though going to school can seem monotonous at times, it is building us and preparing us for the future. It gives us a foundation to build upon in our later life. There are twelve samples of my schoolwork from various subjects I have taken in high school along with a reflection along with each sample. Each of these works explains the triumphs and disappointments I have experienced in each class. It shows what classes have been difficult for me so far, while showing the classes that I have been able to confidently complete. This section truly shows my natural tendencies in school. I am hardworking and I can’t stand to settle for anything less than my best. I am perseverant and determined when it comes to completely any challenge I am faced with in school. The social section includes a reflection and collage, exemplifying the importance of friendship. I think friendship is important in everybody’s life. Friends are the people who never leave your side and are there constantly, supporting you. They shape and form you into who you are. I know that while friends I have met in school are important, family is one of the greatest friends you will ever meet. Even though siblings and parents can go through their usual bouts over ridiculous and unimportant things, they are constantly there for you, no matter what. Putting together this portfolio has allowed me to obtain greater insight into my true personality. It has forced me to look at all aspects of my life, even those that I try to hide. It has brought out past memories, both in and out of school. Through this portfolio, you will get to know more about me and the life I lead. Thank you for reading.
